Twenty years have gone by since Mike Fleck moved from Oklahoma back to his home town in West Texas to set up a one-man jeweler’s bench inside his uncle’s (Don Haynes) drug store in Midland, Texas. This was the beginning of what was to become Occasions Fine Jewelry

Cathy Fleck, Mike’s wife, was a fine arts teacher until the growth of Mike’s jewelry business allowed her to quit her teaching career and become Mike's first full-time employee. Together they brought to fruition the dream of what a jewelry store should be – quality jewelry for every occasion and budget coupled with an easygoing atmosphere that welcomes all.

The locations have changed over the decades, but when all is said and done, Occasions Fine Jewelry has grown to be the largest independent jewelry store in the Midland/Odessa area, thanks in large part to the wonderful customers.

Mike retired a few years ago, but he’s “married to the business” and many times you’ll see his motorcycle parked at the store. Feel free to come in and say hello.

Supporting Our Community

Mike and Cathy believe that family and community are vital. Occasions proudly supports the Community Children's Clinic of Midland. Here, kids that are in need of medical attention can see a physician and have their prescriptions filled for only $10. Our annual Girls Night Out party helps raise money for this worthy charity and Mike sits on the board of directors.

Occasions also supports the Arts. Every year, our staff dons the purple t-shirt and helps Midland Community Theatre raise funds through the popcorn sales at Summer Mummers. We're proud to say we've set sales records for Mummers the last few years!
