Fa La Lollapalooza!!
First, I must say, that I have never experienced anything like what we experienced Thursday night at our FIRST EVER Occasions Christmas party! WOW! The number of people in one place was staggering. We completely ran out of food, wine, party gifts and champagne! There were people patiently waiting in line for an extremely long time to pay for their purchases. But the best part, everyone was happy, considerate, and in the holiday spirit. I was worried that the massive crowd, standing in a long line, would become a nuclear meltdown, however, the spirit of Christmas remained in the air. THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts for your amazing graciousness!
I like to host parties. I don’t even need a reason. I just like being social. I don’t care if we don't make any money or ring the registers all night. It’s all in the spirit of having a good time. And with that spirit, I enjoy food. I’m always on the search for the perfect party food. Not too messy, easily eaten while standing up, grazeable (I know that’s probably not a real word), but not your typical Velveeta Rotel tomato cheese dip and chips (not that I don’t ADORE that kind of decadence). Chef Rebecca….you did me proud! I know that many of my friends and clients that attend my parties will wonder what in the world is on that catering tray, but my thoughts are that I’m a true Foodie. I want to share my love for unusual, fancy and yummy food with everyone. If they don’t like it….oh well…. But, I do try to have a few familiar things on the menu as well.
This is my philosophy about life and my business… I love life. I love to have a good time. I love to throw a party. I don’t take myself too seriously. My store is casual, yet professional and like the hors d’oeuvre selection at our open house, my jewelry selection is the same. I want jewelry in the cases that is fun, spirited, a reflection of the person wearing it. I don’t want to take it too seriously or stuffy. I want a mix that says, “I’m an individual, not a number” and I believe in introducing my clients to new things that they have never seen before, yet there are always a few pieces of jewelry that are comfortable and familiar. The jewelry equivalent of the favorite pair of blue jeans.
As we start the Christmas season, I want to say again, THANK YOU, Permian Basin, for allowing us into your life, your family memories and your holiday spirit. You guys were AWESOME to us and we just wanted to return the favor! Thanks for making our Christmas party such a success!!
